The University of Ottawa's Global Development Policy & Practice Hub is a social enterprise based at the School of International Development and Global Studies that supports the integration of academic research with the world of development practice. It is the central node in a knowledge network that links development practitioners and policymakers in Canada and around the world with academics and students.
The Hub focuses on the creation and delivery of professional skills training in international development in collaboration with civil society partners, especially from the Global South. It also hosts dialogue events and participates in public debates about the role and value of development assistance through the publication of a Hub-branded policy paper series.
Students are integrated into all facets of the Hub's activities, thus allowing them to gain job relevant experience in the policy and practice of international development. The Hub operates on a cost-recovery basis.
